Pilot method published, results not yet released
The Home Services AI Recommendation Report is a controlled field study of which local providers appear, how strongly they are recommended, and which public sources support the answer. The method is public before the pilot findings are collected.
Pre-registered pilot
The default pilot studies one trade in one metro using 12 commercial questions across ChatGPT Search, Google AI Mode, and Perplexity. Each question is repeated five times in fresh sessions on each platform.
That creates 36 question-platform cells and 180 coded observations before control questions. The platforms are reported separately because there is no universal AI search rank. The question-platform cell is the main analysis unit. Repeat runs measure stability and are not treated as statistically independent trials.

Current status
Sequoia will name the pilot trade and metro after demand, relationship conflicts, provider inclusion rules, and platform reproducibility are checked. Discovery prompts are archived and excluded from the published result.
The free baseline review examines your public website, profiles, visible search evidence, and the first apparent credibility or conversion constraint. It does not change which providers qualify for the research sample.
See AI SEO starting pricesTell Aaron which business to review. He will examine the public evidence and identify the first issue worth verifying before you discuss paid work.
Questions about the research
No. It is a defined sample of visible answers collected through a pre-registered method. The platforms remain separate, repeat runs measure stability, and appearing more often is not proof that one company is better.
No. No agency controls an AI product's answer, source selection, recommendation, or timing. Sequoia can document the starting evidence, correct verified problems, and measure later observations without presenting visibility as a guaranteed lead.
The report studies a frozen set of commercial questions across one trade and market. A baseline review looks at one business's public information, website, search visibility, and apparent credibility or conversion constraints before a conversation with Aaron.
No. The pilot's provider universe must be selected through an objective rule before results are observed. Requesting a baseline review does not add or remove a company from the research sample.
